Can I bring a guest to the wedding if I'm single and I'm part of the wedding entourage?

It is a few days before the wedding and I want to bring my best friend because I don't know anybody at the wedding except the bride and a few people of the wedding party. Is it ok to last minute bring a friend to the wedding? Is it rude to ask this late? It is less than a week.
